Surfing The OC

Let’s go surfing now...everybody’s learnin’ how! Experienced instructors supportively guide guests through the fundamentals of surfing. Beginners start with the basics of paddling, board handling, wave selection, and board riding. Students spend the first hour in the water. The second hour is spent implementing the lessons taught while instructors watch from the shore. The philosophy is to create "muscle memory" skills in paddling and standing which are essential to successful surfing. It’s a safe and exciting way of learning the surfing basics, step by step. Whether you actually become a surfer or not, the event is geared towards having fun.

Oceanography Adventure

Join Doug Thompson, a noted naturalist, lecturer, and photojournalist, for an exciting oceanography cruise aboard the Coast Guard-certified White Light, a fully stabilized, luxury yacht that was custom designed for the DuPont family. Guests will explore the vast array of flora and fauna found in the Southern California coastal waters. Guests will observe California sea lions at close range, and examine their unique adaptations to the Pacific environment. Doug presents information in an upbeat, positive way, and allows ample time to answer questions or speak on specific topics introduced by guests.

Ocean Kayaking

There is no better way to see one of Southern California’s most storied coastlines than sitting right on top of it. Experience the reefs, beaches, marine life and coves that brought artists here at the turn of the century and continue to inspire today; all from the clearest water this side of Catalina. A fleet of “sit on top” Malibu tandem ocean kayaks equipped with high backrests are the most stable boats in the sea and allow for comfort and easy of paddling. On a guided tour guests have the opportunity to see California sea lions, pelicans, gulls and cormorants. It is a wonder of nature to behold these lovely, docile mammals and birds in their native habitat.

Dana Point Biking Adventure

Today guests will enjoy a splendid tour of Dana Point. Travel by bike around Dana Point, a picturesque harbor surrounded by towering cliffs and sandy beaches, on a guided tour. Then, turn inland and explore the village of San Juan Capistrano. The tour also passes by the historic San Juan Capistrano Mission, which is known worldwide as the site where the swallows return each year.

Schooner Sailing

Novices as well as experienced sailors are treated to an invigorating time in the calm waters of the Pacific aboard a schooner in beautiful Dana Point Harbor. Once aboard, the mainsail is hoisted and it's time to relax and enjoy the open ocean. As the bow begins to lift higher through the waves, the sails start to ripple and lines creak under the pull of the drawing sailcloth. Enjoy the sun and sea in this unique experience!

Greens Fore You

Tee off any day of the year in sunny Orange County! Greens and fairways are in perfect condition year round, with lots of sunshine and pleasant sea or country breezes. Courses range from tough competitive tournament courses to quick pitch and putt. They can be found on the shores of the Pacific, in scenic parks, lush valleys or the foothills. Electric Boat Adventure

Whether you're landlubber or seaman, you'll love cruising Newport Harbor in a sleek electric boat. These quiet, comfortable boats feature colorful canopies, heaters, clear siding for inclement weather, and are equipped with a stereo system. So . . . sit back, relax, and enjoy vistas of quaint Balboa, lovely Linda, and regal Lido Islands from a unique perspective. As an added enhancement, free time has been allotted for a stop at Balboa Peninsula's famed Fun Zone.

Seven Degrees Gallery

From the moment guests arrive they’ll sense the uniqueness of this state of the art venue. The entrance to Seven Degrees is marked by a striking glass-enclosed gallery, reflecting the natural Laguna Canyon walls, while offering views of the artwork inside. One of a kind video globes offer the ability to display a company logo. The hillside terrace is an outdoor oasis with expansive canyon views and a perfect location for a reception with ambient lighting on the cliff side. During the reception guests will have the opportunity to visit studios of resident artists and view works of art in progress. The indoor Media Lounge is the focal point for private dinner functions.

Marconi Auto Museum

The Marconi Automotive Museum in combination with the Marconi Foundation for Kids is a non-profit organization that benefits children’s charities. Using his private collection of over seventy exotic cars, Dick Marconi has created a non-profit museum that serves as a unique venue. Guests will be surrounded by a collection of one-of-a kind classic Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Porsches and high performance muscle cars. In the verandah is an amazing collection of motorcycles and throughout the Museum guests will find automotive memorabilia, photos, and artwork.

Mission San Juan Capistrano

Guests will have the opportunity to experience California’s multicultural history as they dine under the stars at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. Dedicated in 1776, the Mission is an historical landmark that has been carefully tended to preserve its beauty. Brightened "luminarias" light the way to the inner courtyard. Inside, the courtyard is warm and inviting with the illumination of some of the existing architecture and structures. Spirited strains of Mariachi music fill the air along with the delicious aromas from foods accented with a Mexican flavor. Travel back in time and celebrate the past in true Spanish tradition!

Fabulous Flamenco

Step into the ballroom and be swept away by dramatic lighting and the dreamy sounds of the classical Flamenco guitar. The event unfolds in a dimly lit room with hundreds of flickering candles and a single Flamenco Guitarist at the center of the tables drenched in a pool of red light. As guests approach their seats, a mosaic of color and texture comes into view. Glass containers feature a monochromatic design of yellow flowers, lemons and candles, rich red flora, red peppers and candles all set atop large square tables draped in black. Elegant high back Chiavari chairs surrounding the tables are accented with bright satin sashes that coordinate with the colors of the mosaic base plates. Under The Sea

Float away Under the Sea, where cool shades and the glow of watery light drench the space with upscale elegance. Light shines from within the bars and belly bars slightly distorted through glass blocks as if it were sunlight seen from the ocean floor. Floral and candle accents in shades of blue add droplets of color. Entertainment options are vast, with many types of music to fit guests’ interest: a surf guitar which reminds of crashing waves, or jazz ranging from traditional to Latin, or for a unique choice, a jazz harp.

California Culture

Experience the rich history and local culture of the Southern California Riviera! The first stop is the Mission San Juan Capistrano, the seventh in the chain of Franciscan missions built along the California coast. A Presidential Peek

The story of our times is told in unforgettable fashion at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace. Guests will have the opportunity to explore 22 colorful, high-tech galleries that document not only the 39th President’s private and political life, but also the historic events of his time. In addition to the Library site is the faithfully preserved boyhood home of the 37th President, built by President Nixon’s father in 1912. Rounding out the Library & Birthplace site are nine flower-drenched acres including Orange County’s largest public rose garden.
