About Southeast Florida
Miami
Welcome to Southeast Florida and Miami! This sun kissed paradise is renown for stunning beaches and crystal clear waters framed by turquoise skies and enhanced by a year-round tropical climate. These natural wonders serve as the backdrop for Miami's new hotels, which range from the grand or ultra modern to smaller boutique style properties – cumulatively accommodating groups of 10 to 20,000 participants. Exciting cafes and restaurants, unusual venues, excellent shopping, and thriving nightlife combine to create a destination like no other. Miami offers a multitude of dining experiences with a variety of restaurants that cater to Miami’s cultural and ethnic diversity. Guests dive into all that Miami offers: riding on an airboat through the everglades, snorkeling around the coral reefs, sailing on Biscayne Bay, or strolling through the South Beach Art Deco District, and much more!
Fort Lauderdale
Once called the “Venice of America,” Fort Lauderdale earned its name from its myriad of surrounding waterways. The area has earned a reputation for its great hotels that offer fabulous views of the beaches, Intracoastal waterway or the New River. The diverse hotel properties can easily accommodate groups from 10 to 500. For a relaxed outing, Fort Lauderdale offers cruises aboard water taxis up the Intracoastal or to the Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment Center filled with cafes and shops. The Arts are abundant, and Broadway shows are no stranger to the Broward Performing Art Center. Extensive nightlife venues captivate the night owls, or visit the Museum of Discovery and Science by day. Fort Lauderdale also features two national teams, the Florida Panthers and Florida Marlins. Don’t miss out!
Palm Beach
Palm Beach is located along Florida's famous "Gold Coast," which received its name from the abundant gold salvaged from shipwrecks off the coastline. Palm Beach offers groups a glance into the “lifestyles of the rich and famous.” The most famous attraction is the historic Breakers Hotel, built in 1896, offering luxurious accommodations, first class spa, and championship golf. This area is renown for prestigious shops, and guests will not want to miss the opportunity to stroll along Worth Avenue’s exclusive designer boutiques, cafes, famous jewelry shops and antique stores. Guests find more than 40 museums brimming with diversity – ranging from fine art to Japanese culture. The Kravis Center offers groups a state-of-the-art performing arts venue offering year-round entertainment from top-name performers to Broadway shows. Boca Raton, located in Palm Beach County, offers guests several wonderful hotel and dining experiences enlivened with fascinating history. Those with an adventurous spirit may want to explore the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge or go aboard an airboat skimming the shallow waters over the everglades.
The Keys
The scenic Keys divide the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico. A spectacular drive through the islands, leads straight to Key West’s rich history of pirates, rumrunners and shipwrecks. The area itself is a treasure offering guests a look back on Florida’s unusual history. Some of the alluring activities include chartering a catamaran and sailing around the coral reefs or hopping aboard a seaplane to discover the Dry Tortugas. Those seeking to relax find the Conch Tour Train offers a wonderful tour of Key West’s significant sites. Other highlights include the Key West Aquarium, where guests gaze at native tropical fish, and the Key West Historium, where guests delve into the treacherous world of shipwrecking. Mel Fisher’s Maritime Museum proudly displays rich artifacts from recently discovered shipwrecks. No tour of Key West is complete without partaking in the nightly ritual of watching the sunset at Mallory Square. Both visitors and local artists gather on the dock to celebrate the conclusion of another tropical day.

Historical Paradise Bike Pedal Join us on a leisurely 7-mile bike ride around Old Palm Beach that promises to bring to life this buttoned-down resort enclave that first became famous as a giddy, 1920’s era playground. We will be retracing the Old Lake Trail towards the northern tip of the island as we pass under a cooling canopy of native and exotic trees and manicured flora of every hue. Witness the architectural splendor of Addison Mizner’s Mediterranean-revival palaces set amid the backdrop of semi-tropical seclusion. Explore the grandeur of “Whitehall,” railroad baron Henry Flagler’s love-inspired, 55-room, 60,000 square foot wedding gift to his wife. This opulent landmark was singularly responsible for establishing the “Palm Beach Season” for the wealthy of the Gilded Era and every era since. Step back in time to the great railroad rush to the south as we hop onto Flagler’s restored 1912 Pullman railcar. He used this very railcar to celebrate the completion of his Overseas Railroad from St. Augustine to Key West. Ride with us around the breathtaking views of Jupiter Inlet as we double back on the ocean side of the island. Experience how the personalities and stories of prominent families shaped the fabric of this elegant city as you glide by such famous sites as the Kennedy mansion and the Revlon estate. Navigating through the “Styxx,” we will come upon a few of the oldest cottages in town, carefully preserved for history. Be sure not to miss this invigorating ride through time! |

Nautical Wanderings Come with us on a local journey celebrating a small corner of Florida’s nautical history. Before the advent of planes, cars and even trains, Florida’s long peninsular shape and subtropical climate made travel by land difficult. So the great sailing ships, from the ancient Spanish Galleons to the elegant schooners of the early twentieth century were the transport of choice to pay visit to Florida’s inviting shorelines and ply her sometimes storm-ridden coasts. Explore nautical treasures from far and wide at our first stop, Nautical Furnishings, Inc., the “world’s largest assortment of unusual and authentic nautical items.” This purveyor of all things nautical to restaurants, theme parks and the movie industry will envelop you in an intimate atmosphere of wood, brass and artifacts from the golden age of seafaring. Voyage with us next to the 1920’s hideaway of smugglers, gangsters and coastal fisherman: Cap’s Place. Accessible only by boat, we will take a small jaunt across the Intracoastal Waterway to this local eating and drinking icon where we will enjoy a great feast of old Florida cuisine. Roll up your pants legs, kick off your shoes and let’s make tracks along a beautiful stretch of Florida’s surf-kissed beach to a jetty point overlooking the historic Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse. This 100-plus year-old sentinel and sailor’s salvation will mark our journey’s end, a fitting way to close out this sea-inspired outing. |
