About Seattle

Seattle is more than just a gateway. Seattle is a destination offering your guests a huge variety of activities, recreation, cultural experiences, and sights. There is something for everyone in the Emerald City.

Destination Highlights
Mention Seattle and you will hear a list of treasures that the region is known for: a lively, world-class cosmopolitan city with a casual small-town feel, friendly people, breathtaking natural beauty, fine food, and a unique character.

Seattle is a city defined by its environment. The sparkling waters of Elliott Bay, Lake Union and Lake Washington wrap around the city and its dramatic skyscrapers; and forests of evergreens crowd the city limits. With the rugged Olympic Mountains to the west, and the Cascade Range to the east, Seattle offers your guests an exciting blend of urban and rural cultural advantages.

Attractions

Among the most popular city attractions are Seattle Center and the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, the Hiram Chittenden Locks, the Museum of Flight, Pioneer Square, Chinatown/International District, and Seattle’s latest curiosity—Experience Music Project (EMP).

Seattle owns the best in urban recreation with spectacularly scenic golf, kayaking and canoeing, fishing and clamming, hiking, urban parks, and Woodland Park Zoo and Rose Garden. Wilderness areas are less than an hour away from mountain climbing, river rafting, skiing, and scenic Mr. Rainier National Park.

Arts & Theater
Seattle’s cultural scene is rich with opera, ballet, art galleries, and theater. Music ranges from alternative rock ’n roll to an internationally acclaimed symphony and an increasingly vital jazz scene. The region has become a major attraction for the TV/film industry. Additionally, it supports a major international Film Festival. In Seattle, art is a lifestyle in which your group can be fully immersed.

Local Cuisine
Seattle is more than espresso carts, espresso stands, and espresso bars. With its abundant fresh seafood, Northwest berries, rain-fed mushrooms, and other market-fresh produce, Seattle has become a culinary magnet. Nationally acclaimed local chefs have placed Seattle on the international cuisine map. Their cooking is eclectic, exciting, and world-class—exactly like your guests. Seattle is also a culture of tasty local microbrews and award-winning Washington state wines.

Partner with PRA to design a masterpiece program—from a restaurant dine-around to a gala event, a sports and recreation activity to a team building exercise. Our PRA Performance Team will give you our undivided attention and show you the best in town.

Activities

Geo Teaming with GPS Units

Four or more “Geo Teams” go on a high-tech treasure hunt in 534-acre Discovery Park, Seattle’s largest city park. Each team is given GPS units that are pre-programmed with vital coordinates of the goals, called caches. Utilizing the GPS units and team skills, each team collaborates to find caches, which often take the form of hidden boxes or team challenges.

Blast Off to the Moon!

If your team has “been there and done that” when it comes to team building activities, why not take them to the moon? The Blast Off! program is truly out of this world. Blast Off! launches teams into outer space using the high-tech simulator at the Challenger Learning Center at the Museum of Flight. Participants, based either in Mission Control or in the Spacecraft, fly a simulated mission to the moon. They return to Earth with a deeper appreciation for teamwork, effective communication, and decision-making.

Seattle Scavenger Hunt

An exciting and creative competition tailored to visit local landmarks, the Seattle Scavenger Hunt arms participants with a camera, film and a packet of clues. The key to winning this fun and interactive “hunt” is through teamwork with lots of laughs along the way – all captured on film! Their picture “loot” is used to determine the winning team and provides team members with memories of Seattle and your event that will last for years.

Special Events

Seattle Through the Eye of the Needle

The evening begins with a private Monorail transfer from the Westlake Center. Guests enjoy a quiet 1.3 mile ride on the nation’s first full-scale commercial monorail system. It travels from downtown Seattle and through the Experience Music Project to the Seattle Center.

Upon arrival at the Seattle Center guests depart the Monorail and walk a short distance to the Space Needle. Guests enter the Space Needle’s “launch pad” and board the glass elevator for a scenic ride to the Skyline level, 100 feet above ground.

Breathtaking views of the lakes and mountains that surround Seattle greet guests as they enter the Lake Union and Puget Sound rooms. During a 30-minute cocktail reception, guests have an opportunity to enjoy the views of Puget Sound and Elliott Bay, mingle with each other and listen to music.

Guests are seated at elegant tables dressed with floor length cream linens. Each table is topped with a fresh floral centerpiece and votive candles. The three-course meal complements the spectacular setting. After dinner, guests can visit the Observation Deck, 520 feet, above ground level where they will enjoy 360° views of Seattle before returning to their hotel via motor coach

Tours

Pike Place Market Tour

Guests will visit Seattle’s primary visitor destination, which started with half a dozen farmers bringing their produce to Seattle in 1907. Today Pike Place Market is one of the oldest continuously operating daily-produce markets in the country. Start the day off with a hearty, family-style breakfast at the Athenian Inn, well known from the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”, which offers a breathtaking view over Puget Sound. Afterwards, guests are introduced to the funky maze that is the market by knowledgeable docents. Enjoy the display of fresh produce, fish and flowers while strolling along the semi-open arcade along Pike Place with time to explore the variety of shops on all three levels. There’s no place like Pike Place!
