PRA INTRODUCES CARBON CALCULATION TOOL TO AID CLIENTS IN REDUCING COSTS AND MANAGING ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND EMISSIONS FOR ALL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAMS

SAN FRANCISCO, July 9 – PRA Destination Management, Inc., a leading destination management company, announced today the addition of a progressive tool for its client base to calculate the carbon footprint of each transportation program, according to James W. Hensley, chief executive officer of Allied International, parent company of PRA Destination Management, Inc.

PRA Destination Management is the first DMC to offer this valuable tool to its client base, as a courtesy and value-added benefit for all its transportation programs. By utilizing this calculation tool, PRA clients can base mark their carbon footing as it relates to all bus, limo and shuttle service programs in an effort to help reduce costs and manage energy consumption and emissions.

"Greenhouse gases and environmental impacts are top-of-mind for businesses today and carbon calculation markings are going to be part of most program portfolios in the future," Hensley said. "By offering this calculation tool, we can directly assist our clients with understanding their impact on the environment and costs associated with it, creating an economic value for all stakeholders, while continuing to be mindful of our environmental impacts associated with transportation programs we conduct on behalf of PRA clients."

A carbon footprint is measured by one's energy consumption and how those choices impact the environment and climate change. By measuring the amount of greenhouse gases produced in day-to-day activities through the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heating and transportation, an individual or company can set a baseline carbon calculation mark and participate in carbon offsetting programs that can improve upon the carbon footprint for future usage.

The carbon footprint program officially launches this month in the PRA San Francisco region and will be PRA system-wide by month's end. Through a partnership with its local transportation vendors, PRA San Francisco will be the first DMC in the market to offer this value-added program.

"PRA San Francisco is thrilled to be the first DMC to provide this forward-thinking tool for our clients," said Ferris Suér, co-principal owner of PRA San Francisco. "By providing this carbon calculation baseline, as well as recommendations for energy reduction transportation solutions, we can aid our clients in drastically reducing greenhouse gases, emissions and associated costs. We look forward to incorporating this valuable tool in other elements of PRA service programs."
